First time BMW owner

Finally took the leap and bought my first BMW, a 2020 330e M sport.

I was wondering if there was any good tips and advice for it ? Id like to get the most experience out of the car i can.

Any suggestions are helpful from anything i can subscribe to in the BMW app to anything you can think of.

Thanks

Honestly, just enjoy it in whatever way you can. My 2023 330i that I got almost a year ago brand new is my first bmw as well and I'm having so much fun by just enjoying it. Mods may make the experience even better, but take your time with it and seriously, just enjoy the car. Don't worry too much and just take proper care and maintenance! Congrats!

Autocross is a time trial between cones. Usually on a very large parking lot, or airfield. (The white 330e was me. I added some pictures of the competition as well).

Yes, I’m in the US.
We also have track days over here. They’re indeed not cheap. Last time I did a track day, it was on Laguna Seca (not with my 330e). If I recall correctly the insurance for that day alone was already $300.)

Congrats on the car. Post pics when you can. What do you want to do with car? Are you into modding? You can add aero mods like front lip spoiler and trunk spoiler. Window tint and wheel spacers are also suggestions. Check out the coding section too. These cars are blank canvasses.

Nice car and welcome! This is currently my 4th BMW.
BMWs like their maintenance. Stay on top of it and don't be afraid to do extra, especially as the miles rack up. While it often causes arguments here on the forum, and I understand their point, I still do in-between oil changes at about 5-6k after the scheduled ones and always will.
As other's have suggested look into coding. It's a simple app and you can do some nice customizations.

My previous E39 and F30 had 15k miles/2 years OCI, so I did mid-OCI on those.

The G20 is 10k miles/1 year OCI and will likely stick to that.

Sorry for the super late reply for a start ! But thats my baby, given thats its the E model i wont be keeping it post lease due to the cost of potential maintenance with the battery, im absolutely into modding but im going to save that for my next bimmer, im eyeing an X3 M40d next in 2/3 years when they are on the approved used for a reasonable price.

In terms of modding for this 330e i think im just gonna do black grille and rims, thats it, i dont think ill add anything aero this time around.

Thanks for the advice im quite used to low maintenance japs but im aware this will need more. The oil has been top of my mind to be honest.
You think oil change every 5/6k miles then?

I was thinking to do it every 10k.

Also why you say coding customisation can i ask what you mean exactly? Sorry for my VERY late reply !

Nice car !! I love blue.

Here in the USA, the 330e comes with 3 years of complementary maintenance. Isn’t that the case in the UK?

I do mine every 5-6k, but opinions vary. You can make a lot of tweaks to the car using the coding tools, more than I can just list here. There's a coding forum here you can read up on.

This is the UK mate, its all about ripping you off at any opportunity and i mean any opportunity. Plus they sell A LOT of BMW’s here theres no incentive for them to do it unfortunately. I did however get them to do a major service on the car before I took it because it was due one in 4000 miles.

Interesting! So let me see if I understand it correctly: this is a used BMW, and you were able to lease it?
I’m not sure we can do that in the US. If I remember correctly, when I was in The Netherlands that was also not possible.
That would have made a huge difference back when I didn’t have the cash to buy a decent used car.

Yeah so when someones bought it new on lease, they hand it back and it goes back on sale as a BMW approved used vehicle, all car brands do that here. So i got this 2020 330e M sport for 24k with 2.5 down with 27k miles, FSH and a major service done.
