Last year I bought F30 330i M sport and before that I drove A4 B8 quattro for 8 years and I have to say that one thing I was really missing in my A4 was a handbrake. You don't have to drift but in snow conditions so many times I have maneuvered and escaped from a potentially dangerous situation with a use of handbrake.

I've owned many, many, many different BMW's. I use to work for them. Not offended at all. The Technology and the quality of materials is a massive step up compared to what you find in a 3/4 series. Now, that may change with the upcoming generation but the F3x generation was a massive disappointment. Bland and cheap. The only things that I find to be cheap are the steering wheel buttons. Great click, but you can tell there was some cost cutting going on. Just my opinion though.

you must not have drive a 320 330 or 340 then huh ?

The new chassis and handling is way much more balanced and stiffer and better in my opinion. My 2015 steering and chasis is shit compared to the 2016 -2018

I think the bulbous steering wheel and front end are the worst parts. Smaller spokes and sharper bumper lines would make the car look more sporty/aggressive. I know they want more buttons to be easily accessible without looking far away from the road but that's an overload on the steering wheel configuration.

I have a feeling they wanted to copy Mercedes and make it look like a single unit going all the way across the dash.

That's fine since the instrument cluster is now a screen just like the nav screen. But BMW is half assing it by making it look separate AND a single unit AT THE SAME TIME...

Stuff like this, automatic trans only (maybe), electronic parking brake...BMW has me lost.

BMW please

Lets hope they get with the times and:

1. Get a pano roof and stop with the 1980's sunroof design.
2. Stop with the side tail pipes for the smaller motors.
3. Hide that ugly forward collision eye under the grill (like most good car companies do)

4. I can FINALLY cross this one off my list: Use the electric e-brake nobody is going drifting in a 3 series.

I'm assuming you got one of the packages that adds the stitched leather.

If you don't have napa leather or warm weather, you get some crappy touch points in the center console (i have a 2017 A4 and well you have no choice).

I'd the A4/S4 cabin is quite good definitely better than the F30, but the C class has better materials but is overstyled. A new G01 X3 has a nicer interior than the S5 in my opinion so I'm expecting similar from the G20.

its higher up in the 5 series, but i'd guess they are making it lower so that it isn't as annoying to reach since its a touch screeen. the new z4 looks like that too

Anyone wondering how the manual transmission will be placed in the center console of the new G20 (since trims excluding the M340i i'm pretty sure have been confirmed to be getting them) here's a photo from the leaked Z4 interior, which the 3 series will likely be sharing as it greatly resembles the Z4 Concept interior.
EDIT: Also looks like were going back to Bangle styled cupholders unless they're going directly under the radio controls which looks very small, (Why can't the germans design simple and easy cupholders?)

Yeah.I have the diamond stitched leather. The X3's interior is boring and I'm not sold on leather quality. HUGE improvement over the old generation though.

I have to disagree, I hate the new MB single screen with no cowelled dials in front of the driver... this is what makes a car ‘driver focussed’. Just my opinion but I’d only buy a car with a trad binnacle with inset dials... a single flat screen just does not appeal at all...

But I totally agree that BMW has lost it’s plot with the eBrake and loss of manual box on performance models... the 3 will (already has!?) become just another luxury sedan rather than the ultimate sports sedan! And I’m not being negative just stating facts. It’s too big now and is fast losing its appeal to me...

I live in Toronto and have owned manual cars for 15 years. My handbrake gets used for one thing - parking. How is using a handbrake while driving and locking up the wheels helpful?
