The current M Sport Suspension is already lower than stock so that's not unique to the M340i. Lowering it more is fine, but it not like they couldn't have done it without the M badge. The point remains: this is more Marketing than anything else. M cars are more than just add on parts. Not that this is a bad thing: if adding that M makes BMW take the 340i more seriously for the driving enthusiast, all power to them.

I hate to jump on the bandwagon about how "big" modern BMW's are getting, but this thing looks huge. This coming from a guy who thinks the F30 is just the right size.

anyone can get a PPK, so that's not a big deal. And if the 235 had a different sports suspension, then I would have to guess that the 230 is a car that handles quite terribly. The 235 was floaty, squishy, and devoid of feedback. It was so bad that I took the financial hit after 18 months, and got into a 981 CS, which was on another planet in every way imaginable. But you're right - that's just my personal experience.

I don't care what they do as long as the damn gloss black plastic goes away.

But realistically, the M235 was the same way. You could get the same bumpers, brakes, suspension, etc on the 230i. The only real benefit i saw was that you got more power from the factory vs a standard N55 car. but otherwise, the ///M designation itself just meant you got all the track package/msport package parts as standard. |
