Negatives: Bland exterior design! The 3 Series needs to be way more aggressive looking! The i8 Design Team needs to be included in design briefings and process.
You have options through out the BMW product line, if you don't like the camo G20 and prefer the i8- then purchase a i8, nothing is holding you back. Personally, I have no issue with BMW's design and prefer it over the other auto brands. Just add some mods to the exterior and order a individual color- problem solved of the 'bland exterior', or just wait for the G80. BMW is constantly performing customer preference market research as the bread and butter 3 series is the entry level vehicle and needs to appeal to a wide customer audience. Centers have input into pre-production to make sure the target audience is catered to. Good job BMW design!
Yeah I prefer the eight but I don't prefer the price!

Obviously the 3 Series is there bread-and-butter and should always be Designed at the highest of standards. But the earth keeps rotating and you need to move towards the future of Design.

I guess I just don't wanna see anything beige and bland come I want to see more aggression especially with the exterior design.

Not interested in other brands. We make the investment with what is well engineered, sporty and reliable. And obviously price is a factor as well.

As a 5-Series G30 owner, I see a lot of design elements of my car in the new G20. And that is definitely a very good thing.

I wouldn't mind to pay more for an M3.

But I live in northern Canada, can't get around here in a RWD car. Not happening. Even with studded tires.
Rwd is a non-starter in new england too. The higher price is restrictive too except maybe used

Now apparently both 330i and M340i have separated dual exhausts. 330i is round and M340i is trapezoidal.

That was also my first thougt, not only because of the headlights.
I think this will become a very beautyful car, especially the front end design with the sharp looking horizontal edge looks very interesting and reminds me on the old CS coupes. Oh la la...

In the first post there was "press embargoed G20 3 Series preproduction drive reviews". My guess is that "embargoed" in current context means that "review" part can't be published yet.

I think we'll know everything within 2 months anyway. I just want some more photos accompanying the articles.

Like movie reviews, auto journalist articles and videos are completely useless. I couldn't care less what they think. The only thing that matters is a personal test drive.

We will never see this new 3-series. The most historically meaningful car in BMW's history clearly takes a back seat to mutant looking CUVs.

Updated August 8, 2018

Spied for the first time today was the full electric G20 3 Series prototype. Telltale signs include a vanity (nonfunctional) grille and skinny tires, as well as the legally required "Electric Test Vehicle" sticker. And while it shows an exhaust, they're reportedly fake and left on the vehicle to deceive.

We do not yet have numbers on the range for the electric 3 Series, but considering its competition range from 200-300 miles per charge, that's the likely range we'll see.

Our photographer also observed a Tesla 3 being used by the BMW test crew to evaluate.

All electric G20 3 Series spied for first time

Just go M, as the exhausts are always 2x2 round tips- zero confusion.

I think a full visual reveal will happen before the official October Paris launch! So possibly within a few weeks from now!

Depends what journals you read... I have a lot of faith in CAR & Autocar who have a solid reputation for their opinions! That said I have read varying opinions from different writers in the same journal so yes, a personal test of any car is an absolute must!
