Can you post a pic of your wiper arm with the cover lifted. Cheers.

done this on my LCI G21 .. worked a treat .. You just have to get past the nerves of pulling the wiper arm a little harder than feels right

Sounds great if the design isn't stupid after all. Meaning the documentation is correct as well. Only that many of us are chickens to try 😂

But wasn't it someone in here who broke the arm by forcing it 🤔

That was me, I had to buy a new wiper arm so please take my advice and do not pull the wiper away from the window as per a standard wiper arm, as stated further up the thread you need to pull it outwards from the center against the spring then pull away from the window and it will then kind of lock in place away from the window.

There must be two designs. Mine doesn’t pull outwards, only up.

Sounds weird if there would be different designs even within the LCI G21's but only BMW will know for sure I guess. Maybe a shortage of one part and then replaced by another part.

Either way, based on what has been said here, we all should be very careful with our wiper arms.

@paulockenden - Would be interesting to see a closeup photo of your wiper arm and if any difference can be spotted compared to the photos posted earlier here.

Has anyone been able to do a short video on this? I would really appreciate it. Does the plastic insert mentioned and shown in the photos need to be removed permanently or only when the wiper blade is being replaced? Thanks
