This thing is very clearly using an F30 dashboard. How you guys actually think this is actually the G20 dash is beyond me.
It's one thing to be evolutionary, but the curves, lines, shapes of the instrument cluster hood and dash trim are IDENTICAL to the F30 parts. You don't make a new generation with identical parts, no matter how evolutionary it is. They took the F30 dash, shoved in a new gauge cluster, the touch sensitive preset panel from the new 7 series, and the F30 manual climate panel to test components. The preset buttons and climate panel are literally held on by tape.

Revolutions not evolutions
That is a great relief. One of biggest vulnerabilities we have now is a poor interior style and quality vis a vis Mercedes. The new car must dazzle.

Even the steering is not gonna be the same. The one in the pictures is the one on the current F30. To be more precise, it is the F30 dashboard with G20 gauges and gear lever and the screen. There's a pic from the right where the door is open. That air vent is F30. |

So the argument I here often amongst people, that the 2 series are too small, the 3 series too soft and that e46 were awesome (which they were), does not change that the next gen 2 series is what many wanted from a 3 series post e30 generation, powerful, dynamic, and sporty. And since the 2 series are incher wider and longer than the e30 series, it boils down to going one series down in order to retain the driving feel. But as much as the G20 may be carbon evolutionary, less weight etc, the dimensions suggest it has to be somewhat less sporty than prev gen, and it will have a bigger floatier feel. |

Update: November 11, 2016
The G20 3 Series has now moved beyond the cobbled together mule stage and this prototype shows us what to really to expect from the next gen 3 Series' styling - more svelte than the mule had led us to believe.

I dunno, but BMW interiors are getting stale now, a new design is overdue. I am sure the quality of the materials will be fine, and maybe on par or better than the competition, is just the layout needs a new direction
