So foolish of them. That includes Volvo!

BMW needs to fire Harold and find a serious forward thinking CEO stat!!

I swear I wouldn't buy the car based on the tailpipes along. I am not kidding.

Other than that, it's hard to tell at this point what the final product will look like, but it certainly looks big (and not in a good way).

I hope you're right. Having the turn signals on the side instead of the top of the light cluster like on the LCI models would be a massive step back aswell.

And btw, those headlights doesnt even seem to be fitted with the icon DRLs..looks like only the projectors are there, and that strip of light below is the DRL, much like the base 1er has.

Reminds me alot of the VFL. Maybe a higher spec light cluster with icon DRLs might be an interpretation of those. Fingers crossed.

So, the headlamps are still going to touch the grille? Not my liking.
The front headlamp-grill design and the hood line made me skip this generation. If this one goes the same, I am out of 3 Series.
2 Series is beautiful, why can't keep the same recipe?

At least it seems that the ugly hoodline goes for good!

I think those would be the standard headlights since it looks like it's utilizing standard bulb filament on the lower section. Looks promising though.

I have an E90 and an F30. They're both attractive, but to me, the aggressive headlight/grill design of the F30 looks much more modern and performance oriented...that design affirmed my purchase. I very much hope the new G20 retains this design element.

p.s. I haven't heard too many who think the 2 is an attractive design (though it's certainly better than the 1).

Really? The 2 is one of the best and most attractive cars BMW makes. The 3 series fell off the top 10 list for the first time in about 20 years. The E90 was a much better car.

You guys think the'll pull off same shit they did with E90 => F30 and we'll not get full led all around the pre-lci?

I completely agree that the E90 is a better car (at least a better driver's car...by a long shot)...but the 2? Awkward proportions. The A3/S3 gets this right.

They did that back with the E46 too. Gotta save something for the LCI!

Audi and Mercedes design teams are hitting it out of the park right now. New A4/A5 and their S counterparts look fantastic.

The only thing that annoys me is the fact that the LED headlights aren't adaptive on the Audi.

Interesting to see the indicator at the bottom part of the taillight.

Yes, the top 3 Series model below the M3 will be the M340i. It will take the spot of today's 340i as the only non-M3 six cylinder model.

Now, as to whether or not the model pictured in the latest spy shots is an M340i, I'm not certain one way or the other.

Same direction Audi has taken for years with their S line and Mercedes has recently started taking with their AMG 43's.

It helps justify the cost of the vehicle.

Yep.

And perhaps more to the point, it acknowledges the fact that most everyone who wants the hotter engine also wants the hotter look to go with it. So, by just making the M Sport package (and other race-y goodies) standard, you cut down the number of build configurations and lower the cost (while simultaneously increasing the average selling price, I might add).

BMW is hedging between ICE, PHEV and EV. Don't believe the V-hype. We are not the prancing moose brand.
