you can make a 4 cyl sound beastly and mean... i bet most of the m3/4 guys will ditch the stock exhaust the first chance they get. I bet that'll make a huge difference.

You're looking at the beginning of the end of the combustion engine. I guarantee you in my opinion the new M3 will have some sort of electric motor in it. Then the next generation after that BMW will be only an electric/hybrid sports car manufacturer for its entire lineup. Why do you think they are spending so much money on CF production? I don't think enough people here have experience with a turbo 4 to speak on the matter. When you begin to DD a turbo 4 motor and then try to mod it in anyway or can relate to reliability please come back and speak.

Thats so stupid. Engines are beginning to become less and less charismatic. Do not want.
How about drop the weight, make all the other cars super effiecient, and keep the M cars using N/A or larger turbo engines.
