CF roof really, on a non M? I'd be very surprised TBH.

I'd be surprised as well, but I was referring to articles like this

I was thinking the same on the exhaust, too bad...wish it was the other way around.

You're right, it's still camouflaged, can't tell much about the front end for example. But overall shape looks like a slightly more rounded F30. F30 is more sleek or streamlined (in my humble opinion).

I'm sure it will have some configurable options but I'd rather see an advanced HUD than a highly configurable digital gauges.

For instance the navigation inside the gauge cluster of the new A4 is a lot cooler in theory than in practice. I drove my friend's A4 on a 45 trip from San Jose - SF and found myself staring at the map in the gauges. After I noticed that I just used the normal infotainment screen the rest of the journey especially in the city. It was at that moment I realized that there wasn't great value in that aspect of the gauges - at least to me.

Last thing divers need is a highly detailed information screen in which you must look down at for longer than a glance to get info from.

Unless they can make it as loud as a C43 AMG, then IDK how these are going to sell well compared to that.

Agreed. I think the F30 is great looking but this new profile looks sleeker. Can't wait to see it.

As a way to reduce overall vehicle weight... I see no reason why the CF roof would only apply to M cars in the future.

I could see it trickling down into the M sport level..

I love the Virtual Cockpit in my S5.

Make no mistake. It's an option I would want, however an advanced heads up display would be optimal for displaying much of what the digital cockpit does.

I agree. We 100% need the RPM to be displayed in the HUD as well as turn signals and other small indications. It would be nice to have additional information in the cluster but after having HUD, it is most critical to me. I actually noticed that a lot of the features that I saw in the digital cluster were disabled on my car since the HUD shows the info. If I turn the HUD off, the cluster becomes more active.

HP - definitely yes, the roof - unlikely (but don't want to say impossible).

400hp and a lighter car would blow away the C43 and S4, which would be a pleasant surprise, as BMW is not usually at the head of the horsepower war. That would probably means the next M3 will get Xdrive, as RWD M3 might not be faster to 60 than this M340i with Xdrive.
