G20 3-Series Render Project.

BIMMERPOST
     Featured on BIMMERPOST.com
Hi All.

With spy pics revealing more and more details and the launch of the new g30 5-Series. I thought it would be time to start the G20 3-Series render project, which will be quite similar to the 5 series in overall proportions, if not in detailing... SCOTT26 said in his thread that the G20 will be more "angular looking" than the 5 series so.

I have started the render from one of the latest spy shots which reveals quite a lot of the overall proportions of the car if not the bumper and side detailing. I have morphed into this photograph body parts from the M-Sport version of the new 5-Series. This is the 1st part of the project (see below) and lowered the car a little.

Here's the result below (with picture before, after and animated gif to show the morphing work).

In the next few days and if BMW insiders can provide me more information, I will proceed in providing more "angular" details to the car.

Hope you like it!

Cheers!

24/11/2016: Updated with "pointier" headlight (more like the f30), a more angular front bumper and revised (and sportier-looking) air curtain inspired by the X6M. Alsn with a sportier look: blackened trim (black kidney, air curtain and window surround) and M359 wheels.

I think the next generation 3 Series will not look bad at all ;-)

I hope they won't be keeping the hockey stick line it look ridiculous. Anyway without a Touring version and being Mexican built it will look good in my dealership showroom not in my driveway.

Still the "bubble" hood. Looks similar to an infiniti from the front (crease) only a rendering but nothing to see that makes me want to wait.

Nice...but i dont think it will look this close to the g30..and the body it's too big for the headlights size, compared to the mule. I'm guessing you used a g30 body as the base for the rendering? Wouldn't be better to use the mule as base for better proportions?

From the look of the test mule and the outlines of the details, I'm glad to see that the headlights are much improved and follow closely to what is used on the G30 and G11.

Is it just me.. The rendering looks like more of a facelift than an all-new vehicle...

It seems like the current 3series but done right, by placing the hood line where it should always be.

There is nothing bad about it, but nothing outstanding either. That is the problem.

Good render.
The new 5 in the flesh looks great, i´m sure the new 3 will be the same. It´s to important not to be a success.

The hood creases in the rendering don't look right to me...somehow I think an extra bulge got added, especially on the far side. It's hard to tell exactly from the camo, but I feel like the main crease starts near where the hood meets the a-pillar, then curves inward towards the upper outside corner of the grill.
