No experience with either of those, but generally speaking, the Canon upgrades have been well worth it. The Vii of the 100-400 I have is crazy good.
Also, I just ordered a 500mm f4 ISii, so if anyone wants the still awesome v1 in the Bay Area, I will be putting it up for sale soon.
