This, the E90 was the "okayest" 3 series of all time, for the record, have had every chassis back to e36.

F30 >>>>> E90. E90 interiors were , atrocious design, nothing interesting about them at all. G20 one ups both. No idea where the E90 lover is coming from, they weren't that great of cars, ESPECIALLY from a design standpoint. E90 even broke the classic BMW design cue of the driver slanted dash, which is an atrocity in my book. Thankfully brought back in F30
The e90 love probably stems from the fact that the mainstream car journalists seemed to despise the f30, and spared no opportunity to bash it while waxing nostalgic on the fabled e90 with its interior quality. impeccable handling, and magical, telepathic steering feel.
That's a misrepresentation. The E90 was despised just as much. Later on in the life cycle people grew to love it, but much like the the E46 and the F-Series (...and even now with the G-Series), it was met with criticism. People even initially hated the dash orientation of the E9X.
