Remote start with the keyfob was worth the $300 on the order to me. Remote start via the connected app is worth so much more. I love being able to start the car from my desk at work (no where near the vehicle) and have it warm and ready by the time I walk over there to get in.
Point being, if you get an aftermarket solution I would check if that feature is supported (if it matters to you).
