I left my phone connected to the VPN, both on WiFi and 4G, for much of the weekend with the ConnectedDrive app on and off; no joy.
FWIW, my VPN's IP showed me in NY. Obviously the car still showed up in Europe.
Regardless of how I connect to the US CD website it always shows OTA firmware and map updates as unavailable.
