So, I got my DME back on 2/21, and my car was out of commission for a total of 12 days. I was also successful in flashing bm3 OTS stage 2 93, but unfortunately the weather has been pretty crappy here in North Jersey, so I haven’t really had the chance to open her up.

That said, I’m still not quite done, in fact, I’m just getting warmed up. On Saturday, I will be installing a Pure 800 turbo that I scored off a local guy for a good price, along with an FTP charge pipe. Paul Johnson, my tuner of choice, has already provided me with a base map (see below), so once the pure turbo is installed, I’ll then flash the base tune. Hopefully the weather starts cooperating so we can then work on fine tuning the 93 map and work our way to an E30 map. The expected output for 93 with this setup is ~520 rwhp, and ~570 rwhp with E30.

I also purchased the Precision Port Injection kit along with the motive reflex plus controller, since I want to run a flex fuel tune, however, I’m not quite ready to install that, as I’d like to beef up the transmission before I add even more power. The expected power output with this final stage of my build will top out at about 720 rwhp on full e85.

So, to answer the question how far can we go with 21+ variants? Pretty damn far, especially since we can now, via bm3 and the right hardware, run flex fuel. The only hurdle, which isn’t too bad, is having to ship out your dme and being without the car for 10-14 days. Fortunately, I have a second car, so it wasn’t too much of an inconvenience.
