We previously covered the story of the
BMW 3 Series' return to the British Touring Car Championship (BTCC) series with the G20 chassis.
It was noted that the renders were for reference only and the creation of a graphic artist with no official connection or endorsement from BMW.
Now, however, the first photos of the G20 3 Series in racing guise have finally surfaced.
West Surrey Racing (WSR), the current BTCC defending champions, have unveiled their new 3 Series BTCC racing cars based on the G20 330i M Sport.
Racing driver and former British Touring Car champion Andrew Jordan has praised the new WSR 3 Series racing cars.
"As a road car, the new BMW 3 Series is a seriously good looking machine and that’s certainly something that has carried across to the racing version. The design work that has gone into it is second to none, and the end result is a hugely impressive car that I think the whole team should feel very proud of.", said Jordan.
The WSR cars are set to take on the upcoming season opener at Brands Hatch next weekend (April 6/7).
