Yah, I hear you. I too was a little nervous but if you follow the instructions and do do not brute-force it, you should be fine. I did not break any trim pieces nor clips.

My Canadian vehicle did not come with a rear fog light so I swapped in Euro tail lights. If you plan on doing the same, then you will need to code your vehicle to operate properly with euro tail lights since the USA tail lights are physically different and operate differently i.e. the brake lamps are used as turn signal lamps. See post# 60 for the coding -

If your vehicle was manufactured for the European market, I am surprised it did not already come with a functioning rear fog lamp.
