Max I've seen in the front from online research is 255 but the goldilocks zone seems to be in the 235/245 range
Largest rear tire width I've seen has been 295 but the quality zone seems to be in the 265/275 range
In regard to sidewall, it depends if you're leaving stock height or lowering since you will just be increasing the gap between your wheel and fender if you go decrease sidewall and don't lower the car.
Whether or not it's worth it is entirely up to you and how you're going to use the car - if you plan to daily drive it and that's it, might not be worth the added cost.
