I live in Michigan, and RWD 6MT + snow tires has been my (and my wife's) only set up for years. We only got our S4 last year because it was a better car than the outgoing F30 and the G20 wasn't out yet.

The S4 with snow tires IS better than any of my RWD cars with the same tires, but the BMW's always got us where we wanted to go without drama and are perfectly fine outside of the mountains.
