It sounds like wind rushing trough something larger, so it's frequency is low, like if you pursed your lips like you were going to whistle but keep your lips wider/farther apart and blow while making "short u" sound, like in the word for the "Yew" tree.
As you were moving the mic around that sound seemed loudest when the mic was around the are where that rubber boot/coupler is.
If that is the sound, it doesn't sound like a bearing to me.
Does anyone have a diagram of the engine bay and related parts?

I have the same sound on my M340i xDrive. I just swapped to non run-flat tires and the noise is still present. Very strange.
