I honestly never even noticed it until you just now mentioned it. I don't really pay too much attention to the instrument cluster, the HUD gives me all the info I need, so I'm not really bothered by its lack of customization or backwards tach.

That being said, I think the color scheme of the instrument cluster is fine, it IMO is subtle and doesn't use overly bright colors, so it compliments the cabin well. However, I totally understand other people's frustration with it. As it is, it's pretty useless as a digital display.
