In the UK, BMW would not offer the de-badge option on my G20 as it's the only visual sign the car is a hybrid (apart from the obvious to 330e owners second fuel cap). Generic recovery companies don't have a clue about handling the stored charge.
The F30 also carried idrive badges which I can only assume was the reason why the rear 330e de-badge option was available back in 2016. Maybe this was more out of naivety? I had a rear shunt at approx 30mph in my F30 and the low loader recovery driver couldn't understand why I wasn't asked to drive it to the repair shop. After having a new rear end, the car came back idrive badges missing also 🙈
