I understand that the b48 4-cylinder that powers the g20 330i, is plenty powerful enough for a daily driver, but it isn't all about speed. There's just something about how the silky smooth I6 builds power that I find exhilarating and rewarding. Whenever I drive a bmw with the 4-cylinder, it feels adequate, but not as special as the I6. If I'm buying a premium car, I want more than "adequate".

That's what I used to think as well. But then I realized I spent 99% of my driving in traffic and under 60 mph. So it really depends on your commute. When I had my m3 the vast majority of my drive would be no different than if I had a 320i
