I totally understand that, and in the end, I even described how the 3er is the best daily driver of the 3 cars in this comparison.
While I'm not holding them to the ranks of Porsche's or track cars, I don't see any harm in holding the new car in standards up to the older/past generations, as that is what I'm trying to replace it for, so even though cars are becoming more insulated, I still hold the 3er to high expectations based on my ownership history as well as the high asking price it commands, I'm sure many others on the forums do so as well.
