I just picked up my m340i on Friday. I have the non run flats so maybe this makes a difference.

my last car was an A4 with sport pack and honestly the ride is probably better dampened on the m340i and seems perfectly liveable after two days of driving.

LA doesn't exactly have perfect roads. I suppose it's pretty harsh compared to say a non sport SUV or something but it seems reasonable for a sporty car
