Thinking the same. We are so used to seeing the mileage, but in reality it is not at all necessary to be shown all the time. The fact we can bring it up when necessary, is all we really need.
Garages (and BMW) can see the mileage from the car and key fob, so they don't really need to physically see it anymore.
