hey guys, had same issue - left side of the hood did not lock well on my brand new BMW 330. So I went to the dealer.
First of all, there is no issue with the lock. Left lock has no spring, right lock has the spring. it is normal.
Second, issue was solved by adjusting one single screw on the left latch of the bonnet. You basically have to make it a bit longer, so that it engages the lock correctly.
