Along those same lines, though, isn't the X3M/X4M only available as the competition trim in the UK? If so, having a base rwd/mt only available in certain markets wouldn't necessarily be unprecedented.
However I do agree with your statement above, I don't think they're necessarily referring to the same car in those two statements. It's still very much a toss up in my mind on what they'll do.
