That's a lot better than my usual range but it's still a long way off some of the people here who claim up to 60 kms in normal driving (as opposed to the deliberate easy driving I was doing today). Would I do better in a different mode?

Pretty much exactly what I was getting before the apocalypse. I don't think you can do better than that in Ireland unless you're always going downhill...
