I’m a fanboy of both brands, I’ve owned 4 M3s, and A5, S4, 2 S5s, and now an RS5 so I’m fairly objective
They are both great brands, and they both make great cars
But 20% power deficiency can’t be overcome because it has an M badge
If you race paper the winner is obvious indeed !

But as stated the transmission, traction control calibration and so on (and who knows maybe the tires needed a bit more heat) can contribute to the overall performance... You can't blame it all on Joe who just has to floor it with launch control, I guess even a grandma can launch any modern cars.
