My guess is this was an accidental oversight. there seems to be lots of remaining stock of 225/40/19 A/S 3+ (still available basically everywhere) which is the front/square setup size. So it makes sense to delay the A/S 4 in that size. But the rear 255 is out of stock (and now offered in a/s 4). somewhere in the changeover planning it was missed (or decided it wasn't a priority) that staggered bmw owners for both the f3X and G2x gen were being left out.
When I reached out to Michelin they basically said try to find A/S 3+

Thanks much. By not introducing the 225/40x19 at launch of the A/S 4, they have limited square or staggered G20 owners to seeking out the A/S 3+, which some retailers are now listing as no longer available in the 225/40 size. Maybe they'll move up the release???
