Had the mesh design of the grille been just plain black it would have been just fine - black like the Sport Line and the M Sport yet with a different pattern, plus the Cerium Grey outline, making the M Performance versions stand out.
But these Cerium Grey dotted lines sprinkled over the black pattern just make the grille look toyish, unserious and un-premium. They should either have kept a classical slat design with black or Cerium Grey vertical slats inside the Cerium Grey outline, or went all the way through to a clean black mesh design inside the Cerium Grey outline, but they tried to visually mix both solutions and the result looks half-assed and nowhere as well suited to the 3er as it is to the more light-hearted Z4.
