Not the same but I had this with heated seats. They wouldn’t come on when set to activate. Or would come on when not expected. I reset the iDrive. Press and hold volume until the screen goes blank. Usually around 30 seconds. Logged out of connected drive. Logged back in. It resolved for me. If that doesn’t work it could be software. Might be worth arranging a remote connection session to check codes. Unless you have picked up any fault codes?!
