I'm referring to the speed limiter (LIM button on the steering wheel). Cruise control keeps the desired speed indeed, but inside the city I prefer to use speed limiter, it is just more convenient to me. I also use it in Sport/Comfort modes, so that should not be the result of the transmission decoupling from the engine.

I've found this in the manual:

Seems like such behavior is by design. Now I'm just wondering why.

Edit: Found some info that Merc has/had a patent for a speed limiter that utilizes brakes. Makes sense, as my Infiniti (Q30) was based on a Merc platform.
