Hi,
First off, I'd like to tip my hat and offer my thanks to
Marcelo_BSB for discovering and showing us how to implement and use it -- WAY TO GO GUY!!
Well, having my laptop setup for my F30, I finally, got around to setting it up with new versions of E-Sys (v3.31.0), ProLauncher (v3.5.1.261) and v.4.21.12_PSdZData_Lite. Yesterday, one of my first coding endeavors on my M340 (G20) was to code in both Driver Assistance View & Lane Change Assistant. The first two pictures below are of what was displayed on my instrument cluster and in my HUD; unfortunately, you have to enlarge the HUD picture or squint
Suffice it to say, the HUD view still shows the same icons as before for driver assistant.
Now, before I get into the slight differences from
Marcelo_BSB video, want to provide further details. First my car has a manufacture date of 26 Jun 19 and was shipped with I-Step S18A-19-03-560 (or 1903.560); after my dealer applied the rear camera recall, the I-Step was S18A-19-07-570 (or 1907.570); and finally, I coded with S18A-19-11-540.
After coding, I followed the video's instructions explicitly:
- For Driver Assist View: on iDrive, pressedd CAR, SETTINGS, DRIVER ASSIST, DRIVING, STEERING ASSISTANCE and checked DISPLAY
- For Lane Change Assistant: on iDrive, pressed CAR, SETTINGS, DRIVER ASSIST, DRIVING, STEERING ASSIST and checked AUTOMATIC LANE CHANGE
I went through all of the detail because after I did it, I no longer have the same menu settings. As you can seee from the 3rd & 4th pictures, my iDriver menu offerings are more akin to the official BMW video that
TheGrok posted above.
I think the reason for the differences is due to the I-Step (i.e, the software) versions in the car.
I hope this helps anyone else who may code this super features into their car and wonder why the difference.
