In TeamUSA this year, who was the perfect Teammate? Kobe Bryant. All the players either pointed to him or Jason Kidd as the best teammates. Kobe didn't lead the team in scoring, he wasn't even close. He didn't care about scoring. He chose the role of a defender. He wanted to shutdown the other team's best perimeter player every game. The so called ball-hog/selfish player that is arguably the best scorer in the league didn't care about scoring, he was focused on defense. Why? Because he knew this team didn't need help in scoring.
When the media asks players around the league what they think about Kobe they say he is the best player in the NBA. It isn't even close on how often he is called that. Even Lebron says so. Recently, Lebron says he's #2 and Kobe is #1. Do you ever see the media ask Kobe who is the best player in the NBA? NEVER. Why? Because they already know he is. But they often refuse to say that because they have an agenda against Kobe. They are on the Kobe hate bandwagon. It sells. However, when you ask former players who are in the media who is the best player in the game? They say Kobe is.
Kenny Smith, Reggie Miller, Greg Anthony, and Jalen Rose are some of those guys.
