Understand that, outside of North America, BMW has been offering third-party apps like Spotify as an iDrive-integrated paid subscription. Instead of paying directly to Spotify and using your phone, you pay BMW and use iDrive Spotify.
Nothing to do with CarPlay or BMW Apps.
