It makes complete sense for the manual M3 to be RWD only. AWD sales would be way too low.

Don't forget the F90 gained AWD and lost weight from the previous generation. So getting AWD doesn't mean it'll weigh more (although it likely will).
Either way, I seriously doubt the G80 xdrive weighs 4000 pounds.
