It seems to be some sort of ritual at bmw that the cars must grow 10 inches every generation for some unknown reason. New M4 is now the size of an M6 and so the M2 will now be the size of the old F82. |
BMW is not catering to enthusiasts interested in sporty performance.
BMW is catering to a much larger population of consumers that want bigger and more 'practical.'
The enormous G80/82 front grilles are what 2 billion people in China like. . . similar examples in design decision abound.
It seems BMW is at least smart enough to recognize the basis of success behind the F87 and do not appear to be fucking it up with the G87 . . . they still have time.

I'm still expecting it to grow 10 inches, weigh an extra 100-200 lbs, downgrade to electronic handbrake and of course the 8 speed slushbox.
