The thing is, if you spec it similar you will end up waay expensive.
I was looking from all the angles and this one makes sense.
- it is built in Germany not Mexico
- Individual color
- Merino leather with different stitching
- M seatbelts (you cant upgrade that)
- Performance wheels
- Bigger brakes
- if my calculus is correct you get a $ 9,000 - $10,000 parts for around 3-4000 more than an M340 (just buy separately the wheels, M performance exhaust, Cooling radiator for track package, M performance kit , bigger brakes, etc., and see where you end up. That is without the labour ...!).
Believe me, as a package is a very good deal as is the car right under the M3.
I waited for the new M3 but because of the new grill which is hideous to me I bought last month a San Marino M Performance.
