i come from germany... we use that type of sentences when we for example want to say... "no need for a better one", it has the same meaning with "who needs a"

Your comment about "who needs a M3" simply sparked an old debate. If you didn't say it someone else would have. Been happening for a few generations now. You may not have meant for it to go this direction but it's actually not that bad so far.
