I don't think I will lose a lot of sleep over losing the old one if I go with one of these down the line (LCI probably). Giving the new one a chance, I may even prefer it looks wise, or at least about the same. You just have to let it be itself and not compare it so much. The other wouldn't match the new design as much.
I'm sure is a perfectly nice wheel to hold and use and it looks fine. They are always nicer when brand new, before the get a bit slippery. This is just a purely based on the look of the wheel.
