I think you hit the nail on the head. Hence why some manufacturers are completely abandoning sedan development.
The X7 is selling very well. The X5 doesn't seem to be doing as well as the F series but I guess some of the X7 buyers were probably swayed from the X5 so it's a win for BMW either way.
