Prices are increasing in all segments. Let's look at the Mazda3 sedan:

2014: Lowest trim MSRP $16,945

2019: Lowest trim MSRP $21,895 (redesign)

That's a 29.2% increase in price!

If you want a cheaper 3-er in the US, it's not the 3-series anymore, there's always the 2-series.
