Actually they said the CHASSIS is down 100 lbs, but equipped it's up 100 lbs with all the new stock options, and that's before you add extras!

The key for me is that the M5 managed to be half a foot longer, AWD, and Torque converter ZF8 and has the same weight as an e60. That's impressive even if we are talking 4K lbs. the M6 GTE weighs 2800 lbs, so you can see the price of luxury is weight. BMWs current market for M cars is actually the luxury market.m, the sports car aspect is just marketing flavor at this point.

And such I predict the M3 pure will weigh 3550 lbs and the M3 base will clock in at 3800 lbs with AWD and that fat transmission. Impressive though as it's the same size as the e60!

BMW doesn't compete with Porsche anymore. M2 is close but underpowered, and M4 is very big to be considered a 911 competitor.
