not surprised about the outcome vs the M4 off of a dig - AWD will always win especially since there is not a huge power to weight ratio difference.
with the M550i, the M340i seems to get a better launch, but it's close enough.
Off a roll though where traction and driver skill is not an issue,the M4 will win followed by the M550i then the M340i. Stock vs stock the 2018/2019 M550i traps about 3-4 mph higher than M340i which is why I am sure off of a roll it will pull away.
