BMW had my car all Wednesday and part of Thursday trying to figure it out (apparently when they hooked up their diagnostic tools up the up/down/left/right motions worked). Anyways, ended up being a faulty iDrive control knob...they replaced it and it's good as new. Hopefully the electrical gremlins stop at this...
If it worked when they hooked their tool up, did the car register a code for them to deem the controller faulty? Or did they take your word for it?
Irrespective, glad it’s working fine now
