Next generation M3/M4 to be a hybrid?

There are (unsubstantiated) rumors that the next generation M3/M4 will be a hybrid, where the front wheels will be powered by electric motors. This would not be surprising.

Consider this: the Tesla Model 3 with its dual electric motors combining for a comparable 450 hp consistently clocks 0-60 times of 3.5 s. This is considerably faster than the M4 CP (and not far behind the 625 hp M5 CP). The instantaneous max torque delivery across across the entire rpm range offers huge advantages over a conventional IC engine. In addition, all-wheel drive M4 would naturally follow the evolution of most performance cars.

Considering the stringent emissions requirements in the upcoming years, it’s only logical that BMW follow this path.

Any thoughts?
