Up to 40K miles I stuck to to OEM BMW 0W-30, never had any burning issues, (Even after a track day running at 90+ degree weather) always was full at oil change intervals. Switched to Liquimoly 5W-40 Leightlauf as recommended by many people especially running Stage 2 and E85 blend occasionally and for the first time I've had to top up about a quart. I've driven about 5-6K on this oil and have noticed significant oil consumption and it dropping from full. Not sure what happened as it's significantly thicker then 0W-30 if someone can explain to me. I will be switching back to 0W-30 next oil change. Reference back you will see many posts throughout the forums of how 0W-30 has never given me a issue.
