I can tell you that manufacturers won't keep up the rapid pace of the iOS platforms. Android Audio, a good example of how BMW has been slow to act on a feature that many would love to see.
I might be proven very wrong but I for one would be cautious and watch how this feature rolls out and gets supported. Time will tell if its EPIC new feature we can't live without or another failed IOT experiment.

They'll get there but, I agree, that isn't now. The user guide for the NFC access card they provided with my M8 quite literally recommends keeping the key with you... for fucks sake.

In addition, why the hell would I want an inferior solution to the touchless, hands-free key that I already have. This is a regression in convenience, not a step forward... yet.
